Gordon's Crow About Success 2008!
Congratulations to Dustin Vandenberg who completed his qualification as
an actor/combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors (SAFD).
One of Dustin's instructors was the fight director (for and acted in) the new Batman
movie, The Dark Knight.
Congratulations to the House of Gordon Virginia Division who has been
tapped to host the 2009 House of Gordon USA AGM!
Our own David Gauthier tackled The Bear and made it into the top
third of competitors! Placing 260th out of 819 with a time of 50:59.37!
For those of you who don't know, the Bear is
a 5-mile run starting at the bottom of the
mountain in Linville and ending at the
Swinging Bridge Lookout. With an elevation of
1541 feet in five miles, it is considered on of
the most challenging and premiere runs in
America!
Congratulations to Tory Baker, daughter of Geof &
Beverly Baker, on winning Punk Your Chucks, a
design contest for Converse Chuck Taylors. She
received $750.00 and twenty pair of shoes!
Her design, called Child's Play, will be on shoes soon!
Congratulations to Aaron Todd, son of David and Lois
Todd, on being awarded the American Legion
Military Excellence Medal as Outstanding Cadet 2007-
2008 of the Hermitage High MCJROTC. Aaron was
promoted to 2nd Lieutenant and named as the OIC for
the Raiders Team.
Aaron helped lead his team to the Henrico County
Superintendent's Cup as the best JROTC Unit, and as
the new OIC for the Raiders led them at the Relay For
Life where they ran as well as volunteered their time in
community service raising $200.00 for the American Cancer Society with only two weeks notice.
Congratulations to Aaron Todd for being named Drum Captain of the Hermitage Marching
Panthers for the 2008-2009 School Year.
WELCOME HOME DANIEL TODD!
After a two year tour of duty with the USMC in
Okinawa, Japan, Daniel has returned to the USA
and says that is "GREAT BEING BACK IN THE
STATES -- THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE THE USA!"
While overseas Daniel was deployed to the
Philippines, Iwo Jima and Thailand. He is currently
stationed at Parris Island. Pictured left: Daniel,

Congratulations to Lois Todd on receiving the James Cash Penney Award for
Community Service in 2008. Her work with the Hermitage MCJROTC and the
House of Gordon earned a cash donation for the JROTC Unit at Hermitage.
Congratulations to Sally Gordon on her new line of goat milk soaps! Sally
has put her beloved goats to good use making a wonderful line of goat milk soaps
with all natural ingredients and fragrances.
